* Community theatre in the Czech Republic
* Helping at a centre for disabled children in Latvia
* Working with indigenous people in Australia
* Working in a village collective in Senegal
* Helping in an Intercultural Centre in Guatemala
* Helping in a shelter house for immigrant children in Italy

How to apply?

Hundreds of people have the will to do something different with their lives and take part in an IVS project every year.

If they can do it... why can't you?

To apply for a project, you will need to complete an application form and post it to IVS North Office with your registration fee. (Forms are available from the offices in the Project Directory and from www.ivs-gb.org.uk

* IVS is open to everyone but you must be over 18 to take part in projects abroad
* 16 - 17 year old are also welcome to take part in projects in Great Britain
* No specific skills or qualifications are needed

2005 VOLUNTEERING IN BRITAIN

In 2005, 218 international volunteers took part in the following projects in Britain:

Southern Region

Emmaus,St Albans (March-April) 7 Volunteers Project working with homeless/unemployed people

Living History,Chepstow (June-July) 9 Volunteers Practical work at ancient farm

Big Green Gathering,Cheddar (2 projects July-Aug) 12 Volunteers Preparation and running of large environmental/ecological event

One World Camp,Romsey (August) 19 Volunteers Preparation and running of festival

Green Fair,(Aug-Sept) 6 Volunteers Event preparation, IVS-SCI support work.
